Easy access to Mawella Lagoon SPB airport, which was about 30 minutes' drive away. The rooms were extremely spacious, with climate control, a personal safe, and a private entrance, comfortable bed.
The room was a little dark.

We had an amazing value for our money at this family-run guest house. The rooms were comfortable and the sea views were fantastic. The location was perfect, just a short stroll from the heart of Hiriketiya for surfing, bars, and restaurants. The staff, especially Rangi and his family, went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We also loved the peaceful and idyllic setting surrounded by beautiful wildlife.
More variety in the breakfast selection would have been nice.

What a fantastic stay we had! the rooms were comfortable and the price was great. the guest house had the most amazing sea views, and we even had our own private beach. It was so peaceful and relaxing, away from the hustle and bustle. the location was perfect, just a short stroll from the heart of Hiriketiya where we could find surf spots, bars, and restaurants. the Asian breakfast served on the patio each morning was a delightful experience, overlooking a beautiful bay and surrounded by local wildlife. We also loved the communal kitchen and enjoyed watching the sunset with cold beers on the patio. the family that runs the guest house went above and beyond to make us feel at home. an exceptional and idyllic stay in a wonderful outdoor space.
That swimming in the beach was not possible. this was easily compensated by the private beach provided by the guest house.

Our stay at Screw Pine Beach Villa was absolutely amazing. The location, tucked away off the beaten track, allowed for a tranquil and peaceful experience. We loved walking across the shelled beach to reach the villa, it was such a picturesque setting. The family who runs the villa treated us like family and their hospitality exceeded all expectations. The beautiful gardens were home to peacocks, monkeys, and mongoose, creating a unique and natural environment. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, with fresh and traditional Sri Lankan dishes prepared with love. Despite the challenging circumstances during our stay, the hosts went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. If we ever return to Sri Lanka, we will definitely choose to stay here again.

We absolutely loved the amazing location of this guest house! It was nestled in the middle of nature, offering a true sense of tranquility. the beautiful garden overlooked a quiet bay, providing stunning views of the ocean. We enjoyed the peacefulness and remote atmosphere, away from the crowds. the area was very quiet, with only the sounds of animals and the ocean. the kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed, including spices and oils. There was also a cozy local restaurant just down the beach, serving fresh seafood. It was the perfect place for a relaxing and secluded getaway.
The only downside during our stay was the small washroom/toilet. It was a bit cramped and could have been more spacious.

The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They made us feel welcomed and provided great assistance during our city trip. The location of the hotel was fantastic, with a beautiful private bay just a short walk away and easy access to the main surf point. The surrounding nature was breathtaking, with peacocks, monkeys, and squirrels adding to the charm.
The bathrooms on the ground floor were a bit small and could use some improvement. It would have been great if there were more recreational activities available at the hotel, such as darts or a carom board.
